Venture Magazine is a regional quarterly magazine that highlights the natural beauty, fun, and vitality of historic New England while providing information to access and learn about all that the area has to offer. For this project, I was tasked with creating an original concept for a magazine and designing one issue with a table of contents, two articles, and a package piece. For this summer issue, I wanted to play on New England's historic classic nature while adding some robust modern energy. Additionally, I created a website, showing the versatility of the design and the concept. The website echoes the design of the magazine while also accommodating itself to the nature of the web medium, with larger font sizes and more straightforward layouts. This project, at the time, was the largest print project that I worked on from start to finish and I developed a love for researching and playing with typefaces and creative spreads. Throughout this project, I wanted to play with the juxtaposition of classic type treatments and imagery while inserting pops of color, display typefaces, and dynamic layouts representing the culture of New England today.
